PAPER: FOOD CONSUMPTION-PRODUCTION RESPONSE TO AGRICULTURAL POLICY AND MACROECONOMIC CHANGE IN NIGERIA

In times of expected economic shocks, farming households may turn to planting staple crops for their own consumption, at the expense of income growth, diet diversity, and agricultural commercialization. This study examines the food consumption-production linkage in such a situation in Nigeria, and explores a policy initiative that may mitigate these adverse effects.
