As stakeholders seek to promote diets that are both healthy and environmentally sustainable in terms of production and consumption, the authors have developed the World Index for Sustainability and Health (WISH) to evaluate diet quality and environmental sustainability in one scoring system. Based on the EAT-Lancet recommendations, thirteen food groups are scored based on their association with disease and impact on environmental indicators.

The paper, “Method for the Development of WISH, a Globally Applicable Index for Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems,” was published in Nutrients in December 2020.
