FOOD SYSTEMS PLANNING WORKSHOP: SUMMARY REPORT

by kkeeton | February 3, 2016

In preparation for its Phase II proposal submission, A4NH hosted a planning workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from February 2-3, 2016, to develop a research program on food systems for healthier diets. Led by the Ethiopia Country Team, the consultation was held at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) campus in Ethiopia, and engaged a range of Ethiopian research partners and government and non-government institutions from the health, agriculture, environment, industry, finance and education sectors, as well as international donors. The goal was for the group to identify and review trends, knowledge gaps, opportunities, and priorities for improving diets through sustainable food system pathways.

A summary report from the workshop provides ten insights and discussion points to shape a research flagship program on food systems for healthier diets, to be proposed as part of A4NH's upcoming Phase II submission.
