Book Release: Pulses for Nutrition in India: Changing Pattern from Farm to Fork

A good monsoon led to a rise in sowing and production of pulses in 2017, resulting in prices falling almost by half. Earlier, in 2015, rising prices causing declining consumption of pulses had been a cause of concern for both nutrition and food inflation in policy corridors.

Open-Access Book on Diversifying Food and Diets Now Available

This week, Bioversity International announced the release of a free, open-access version of Diversifying Food and Diets: Using Agricultural Biodiversity to Improve Nutrition and Health, an Earthscan book from Routledge Press, out of their Nutrition and Marketing Diversity Program and edited by Jessica Fanzo, Danny Hunter, Teresa Borelli and Federico Mattei.
