by kkeeton | September 25, 2015

This past week, A4NH joined 80 international and Dutch participants in a public-private sector engagement event in The Hague, Netherlands. The forum was meant as a platform to share best practices on public-private sector collaboration in research partnerships,  to discuss the role of partners, and to explore opportunities to develop new CGIAR research programs.

Entitled Linking Public Goods with Private Interests to Scale Up Agricultural Innovations and Impact, the event, held on Monday, September 21, 2015, was co-organized by the CGIAR Consortium, Netherlands Ministries of Foreign and Economic Affairs, World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), the IDH Sustainable Trade Initiative, and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation.

A4NH Director, John McDermott, participated in a 'Dragons Den' exercise as one of three Public Sector actors (all Directors of CGIAR Research Programs) invited to make a pitch to a panel of Private and Public Sector Partners. McDermott presented a pitch outlining how improved health and nutrition makes good business sense.
