New Studies Highlight Potential of Zinc-Biofortified Wheat

More than 17 percent of people globally lack sufficient zinc in their diets. Deficiencies in this essential micronutrient contribute to an estimated 400,000 child deaths globally each year. Yet new studies from HarvestPlus and CIMMYT show biofortifying wheat with zinc has the potential to improve this critical situation.

Update from the Field: Stories of Change in Nutrition in Vietnam

Under way since September 2017, Stories of Change Vietnam aims to understand the history, contemporary treatment, and future of nutrition in Vietnam, including policy and practice pertaining to both undernutrition and overweight/obesity. The research uses quantitative methods to explore trends in nutrition outcomes and drivers, and qualitative approaches to analyze trends in 'enabling environments' for nutrition.
