by kkeeton | March 10, 2015

A4NH is excited to announce the launch of the Journal of Gender, Agriculture and Food Security (Agri-Gender), a new open access, peer-reviewed and refereed journal published by the Africa Centre for Gender, Social Research and Impact Assessment.

Agri-Gender aims to promote interdisciplinary research, offering an intellectual platform for international scholars to publish their research work on gender, agriculture, and food security. Research papers in Agri-Gender may span the fields of agriculture, such as livestock, fisheries, crop sciences, agriculture economics, rural development, food security, and nutrition- as they relate to gender. Other topics may include women’s empowerment, feminist, and gender studies. Publications will include original empirical papers, review papers, case studies, and book reviews, among others.

The journal’s chief editor is Jemimah Njuki of the Africa Center for Gender, Social Research and Impact Assessment. The editorial board includes leaders from IFPRI, Yale University, the World Bank, the University of Texas, FAO, University of Nairobi, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The journal will be published online twice per year. Click here to view the inaugural issue.
